WordPress.org is officially joining the protest against Senate Bill 968: the Protect IP Act that is coming before the U.S. Senate next week. As I wrote in my post a week ago, if this bill is passed it will jeopardize internet freedom and shift the power of the independent web into the hands of corporations. […]

You are an agent of change. Has anyone ever told you that? Well, I just did, and I meant it. Normally we stay away from from politics here at the official WordPress project — having users from all over the globe that span the political spectrum is evidence that we are doing our job and […]

Have been away from your blog too long! Thanks for your input to this issue. We must all fight to keep our freedoms, by becoming more self -sufficient with our expectations. The more we wish for our government or large companys to ( So call help ) us. The more we loose our freedoms. In this case free speech! This is a must in order to maintain a free society.
    All the best!

I joined in, closing one blog site for the 24 hours and putting up the banner provided by WordPress. We’re going to have to keep an eye on all of them – I’m especially irritated with Google buying up Picnik, and then closing it to force us to use Google+ for our photo processing. I’ll be finding options, thank you very much. I don’t need Google linking everything in the world to make life “more enjoyable” for me!

Good to see evidence of life here. I just managed to get myself to sign up for email notifications of your posts, so I won’t be so late to get here next time!

Thank you, Linda. I’ve been talking less and painting more! Your painting is underway! When I can get it finished, and not ashamed of it, I’ll send you a photo to make sure you want it. If so, will ask for an address to send it to you! (It does have to dry enough to ship first though – it’s oil on stretched canvas.)

I could use a better resolution of the sign above the door. Painting is 12×12, so my paint detail will be no better than if one looks at the image from the street. Also, need to know if you want the ‘for rent’ sign as large as in the photo, or included at all??

  3. After reading Mags’ posting on this reminding me to do something, I put a ribbon like hers on my site. WordPress makes it easy.

    Hi,
Welcome back, you have been missed , I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and of course had a bit of fun on New Years Eve. :)

Yes it is not good what Governments are trying to do, in fact it is rather scary, and of course I hope everyone succeeds at stopping this.
