Internet Freedom is one of the last we have…
Internet Blackout Day on January 18January 17, 2012 WordPress.org is officially joining the protest against Senate Bill 968: the Protect IP Act that is coming before the U.S. Senate next week. As I wrote in my post a week ago, if this bill is passed it will jeopardize internet freedom and shift the power of the independent web into the hands of corporations. […] Help Stop SOPA/PIPAJanuary 10, 2012 You are an agent of change. Has anyone ever told you that? Well, I just did, and I meant it. Normally we stay away from from politics here at the official WordPress project — having users from all over the globe that span the political spectrum is evidence that we are doing our job and […] PLEASE, DON’T GIVE THE LAST BASTIAN OF FREE SPEECH AWAY TO...
I’m sorry …
Thought maybe someone would want an explanation. I’ve been unable to write for several days. Not sure what the problem is. However, I’m still reading as many posts as I can, even though commenting is almost impossible. I think of you guys every day, and hope you have the best Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Define bonding …
It was love at first sight. The little white and silver poodle was as soft as any pillow – and the two-year old had a new friend. They shared playtime and quiet time in the house, running in the yard, cookies and naps. By the time she accepted the idea a baby was on the way, she didn’t particularly care if it was a sister or brother. Her nurturing instincts took over the day he came home. She was comfortable, loving, and proud. Bonding is a treasure often taken for granted. A few never understand it, some of us couldn’t live without it. When you watch it happen with your children, there’s no better feeling in the world. Parents feel like when they leave this earth, their children will always have each other. The family continues from one...
Will we be where we think we are?
There’s apparently a lot of attention on the internet regarding the Mayan Calendar, and the end of a long count. Many are interpreting it as the end of the world. However, I don’t believe that. Rather, to me, it is the end of an age, as we know it – the age of ignorance, hidden history, hidden human activities around the world that have manipulated mankind. The truth is coming soon – the calendar states December 21, 2012. In the back of my mind, I’ve waited for this for the last twenty years. The bizarre growth of technology and international events over the years have set the stage for this probability. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to finally understand the mysteries of our mythology – and all the things that had to be taught...
Jake the Golden Dog – Memorial
The rising sun highlights the heavy laden clouds moving slowly across the crystal blue Texas sky. I still mourn. On November 5th, Jake died. It’s been three weeks now. I know I have to talk to him. It’s been hard, Jake, to think about all these years we’ve been together. I often wondered what your life had been like before you showed up one morning on my porch when you were about eight months old. Your double coat was soft as silk, and I worried you belonged in the city, not on a ranch. Your big brown eyes begged to stay. Why did you refuse to get in a vehicle when we needed to take you to the vet for your shots? You and I took up the whole backseat with you wrapped in a blanket! Your skin was so soft, I could never use clippers to cut the...
